(Kitco News) In a year-end heist, thieves got their hands on $1 million worth of silver bullion, which disappeared from a truck traveling between Sydney and Melbourne in Australia.
Police are appealing to the public for help, releasing the images of the silver bars.
“Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives are appealing for information after silver bullion valued at $1 million was stolen from a truck traveling between Sydney and Melbourne,” the New South Wales Police Force said in a press release.

More than 2 million people were screened at US airports December 16, 17 and 18, according to checkpoint data from the Transportation Security Administration.
Those numbers are nearly double what they were a year ago but fall short of the pre-pandemic 2019 figures, the data shows.
This year, 2.063 million traveled on December 16, 2.234 million traveled on December 17 and 2.035 million traveled on December 18.
